Pittsburg - Pittsburg was founded in 1839 and is located at the junction of the Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers.  Something that impacted the city's expansion in 1942 was the opening of Camp Stoneman.  It was the place where GI's departed from before heading out for Pacific operations during WWII. One of the most celebrated attractions for Pittsburg is its annual Seafood Festival.
