Colocation Data Center can come in different levels of quality
in infrastructure, a wide range of sizes, power configurations,
security systems, backup power options, physical space /
building layout and construction, cabinet / rack configurations,
cable management systems including raise flooring, air
conditioning systems and parking. Colocation data centers
can be classified into three classes: Class A, B and C.
Class C is the most basic colocation center and does not truly
classify as one. Half of all small independent colocation data
centers fall within this category and often do not carry state
of the art features. Class B has onsite support but only
during the day, often charge for IP addresses and cross
connects, have redundant air conditioning for the facility but
not for each suite. Cass A colocation gives you the most
premium services. It includes a fully trained and
certified staff, premium on site colocation services included
free of charge, UPS, 24 hour access, locking cabinets, and much
